I'm a Senior Service Designer at KP's Innovation Consultancy. We're an internal innovation and design team using human-centered design to bring joy and simplicity to the complex world of health.
Kaiser Permanente is an integrated healthcare system that provides care and coverage for 11.8 million members across the United States—a pretty big and pretty old organization. We're a small team of service designers within a large organization of 270,000 employees set out to tackle ambiguous topics like cost transparency, equitable care experiences, and the future of health care delivery. I spend most of my time in KP clinics across the country, observing and prototyping with members and staff.
Much of our work involves patient health information (PHI) and concepts we aren't quite ready to share externally. But don't fret! Here are some public-facing projects I can talk about all day long.
